Seismic changes to the insurance risk agenda mean we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager join our Financial Services Risk Management team. The role is based in Sydney and is flexible on a full or part-time basis.

Your role will be pivotal in continuing EY’s reputation as a long-term trusted advisor with our high-profile clients as you lead large-scale engagements. You will build points of view on strategic and emerging insurance risk areas that contributes to the transformation of the industry to better practice risk management.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in FS Risk Management, your role involves developing and implementing solutions both within the Risk team and in collaboration with specialist risk areas. The key responsibilities of the role are set out below.

For business development, you will:

Hold key relationships with our insurance clients’ risk leaders, delivering high quality support and solutions

Create tailored offerings, successfully taking them to our clients by leveraging our local and global network

Draw on your knowledge and experience to create practical and innovative insights for clients, contributing to EY thought leadership

 On engagements, you will:

Manage teams, as well as senior client stakeholders and be responsible for delivering high quality results and generating effective and impactful solutions

Deliver engagements in line with our values and commitment to quality, consistently driving projects to completion

Within the risk practice you will:

Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external stakeholder relationships

Effectively supervise, coach, mentor and lead people initiatives to empower high performing teams 

Skills and attributes for success

You will have:

Broad experience of Risk Consulting, including executive facilitation, strategy, governance and risk management 

Relevant Big 4 consulting experience in winning and leading major risk management projects with recognised insurers (preferred).

Experience within the Insurance sector either as an insurer, intermediary or regulator

Strong business development skills to shape and win client proposals

Innovative and problem-solving mindset with the ability to understand a client problem and tailor a practical solution

Ideally, you’ll also have:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing industry studies and client presentations

Proven experience in leading highly motivated and successful teams

Success in building industry relationships and promoting a collaborative culture
