The opportunity
EY’s Strategy and Transactions division in Melbourne offers government clients professional strategy, policy reform, investment and transaction advice and services. This includes: developing cutting edge strategies and business cases to support government investments, providing quality commercial advice, supporting government to steward and support markets, and providing complex transaction integration. The goal is to help EY clients achieve their best capital performance, deliver value to the Australian public and meet their strategic objectives.
Our market leading economics, policy and regulation team advises clients on strategic policy reform, economics, and regulatory issues for large-scale projects. We provide support from across the policy lifecycle from policy development through to developing reform and investment business cases and evaluating impacts. We are currently working on a variety of major infrastructure, health, aged care, international development and trade projects across the country.
We are looking for high-performing and experienced people to help lead the growth of our team. Successful applicants will be expected to play key leadership roles managing and building client relationships and our fast growing and fast paced team.
Your key responsibilities
Leading high performing and fast paced project teams. Guiding and mentoring the development of juniors in the team and championing EYs diversity and inclusiveness agenda
Advising on strategic policy and reform issues, developing business cases, providing commercial and transaction advice
Leading the preparation of tender responses and quality project deliverables that present economic, policy and financial analysis in a concise and impactful manner
Building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships and networks in federal government. Understanding of federal government process is desirable
Ability to support the delivery of key international development projects (including some travel to Asia) is desirable
Precise responsibilities will be determined by your rank and experience.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
Positive, proactive and collaborative approach to working with teams
Relevant experience working in or with government or the desire to work with government going forward
Ability to undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision-making and clearly communicate written analysis in well-structured, evidence based reports tailored to a variety of audiences
Ideally, you’ll also have
Eligibility for an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship)
