Summary
The Senior Manager will play a key role in growing Metro’s online grocery customer base by focusing on customer acquisition, conversion and retention. The Senior Manager will be responsible for enhancing the customer acquisition and retention strategy and implementing the plan with Metro's internal and external stakeholders. The individual will need to ensure qualified traffic is driven to the Online Grocery platform to achieve revenue goals. They must have a proven track record of lower funnel marketing activities, especially in managing paid media, CRM, and remarketing campaigns. The Senior Manager will incorporate best practices to the online grocery context by leveraging their strong background in retail and marketing.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, monitor and optimize acquisition, conversion and retention customer strategy to meet online sales objectives
• Manage, track and optimize email communications to maintain customer relationships and maximize conversion
• Own all online grocery digital marketing channels including Social, SEM, Email, and CRM to drive sales
• Optimize marketing budget allocation through experimentation and optimization
• Source, develop and maintain relationship with strategic partnerships that are complimentary to Metro Online Grocery, driving top-of-funnel awareness
• Implement tactics to improve digital campaigns to acquire and retain customers
• Monitor, analyze and define KPI’s to ensure marketing initiatives are driving cost efficient CPA’s; Leverage Google Analytics and internal dashboards to understand trends, customer behaviours and transform insight to actionable results
• Be the main point of contact for external agencies
• Liaise with internal Metro teams (I.e. brand, digital, merchandising and loyalty) to integrate eCommerce into existing marketing programs
• Lead and mentor marketing team to produce high-performing results
• Thought leadership in best practices on the latest eCommerce and digital trends
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in administration, marketing or e-commerce related field or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience in eCommerce
• 4+ years of Performance Marketing experience
• 4+ years of CRM experience
• Track record of growing eCommerce/ D2C business, and/or startup experience
• Strong background in Paid Social, Paid Search, and/or Programmatic Display Ads
• Ability to think strategically and execute
• Experience managing large, integrated traditional and digital campaigns resulting in positive ROAS
• Data driven, process and KPI oriented mentality. Able to regularly hit targets
• Extensive knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Adss, Google Analytics, etc.)
• Marketing automation (i.e. HubSpot) experience is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have a collaborative spirit, keen sense of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to think analytically with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience within the food/retail environment is preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
• Bilingual – French and English is ideal (spoken and written)
