What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Data Risk & Controls Assessment will be responsible for conducting data risk assessments and controls effectiveness reviews to ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements. The role will mainly be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to manage Data Governance and Risk Assessment while working closely with business segments across the organization globally, to ensure all Segments are consistent with Data Risk Oversight approach

What will you do?

• Oversee the data risk assessments across different trigger events (e.g. IRP, PIA, SRMA, RTA, POC etc.) to ensure risk measurement and appropriate risk mitigation
• Act in an advisory role to first line and second line partners and facilitate training and communication on data risk assessment, controls and oversight
• Provide subject matter expertise during design and execution phase and support removing roadblocks
• Assist in the development and monitoring of Data Risk Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
• Assess the effectiveness of data controls
• Establish and continuously enhance subject matter expertise in data risk management and governance
• Partner with other 2nd Line areas such as Privacy, IT Risk, Law Group, Compliance and Ops Risk for the development of strong data risk oversight model
• Support identification and realization of opportunities for automation and enterprise-wide alignment for data risk management and oversight practices
• Ensure appropriate logging  and tracking of data risk issues and exceptions

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• 4 – 7 years of experience in similar roles
• Undergraduate Degree
• Knowledge of and experience in risk management practices including risk assessment, controls testing and independent review
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style depending on the audience at all levels within the Bank
• Proven ability to work independently, plan effectively and lead initiatives to completion
• Experience in designing and documenting policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
