Your role

  • Coach the team of Commercial Credit Managers to achieve objectives and have a positive impact by ensuring alignment with Bank values (agility, empowerment and partnership) 
  • Analyze, recommend and approve complex commercial credit applications
  • Draw up and implement strategies to manage risk for the commercial portfolio
  • Encourage the continuous rethinking of work methods to optimize processes and systems and make the most of technology
  • Participate in various initiatives intended to improve the performance of the Bank's commercial segment
  • Act as a risk ambassador for the business line

This position reports to the Vice-President, Credit Adjudication, Commercial Banking, Real Estate and Wealth Management and is in the Risk Management business line. You will manage a team made up of around ten professionals with diverse professional backgrounds. They are known for their proactivity, their dynamism, their competence and their ability to collaborate with stakeholders. The team has adopted a hybrid work approach.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Experience in handling complex commercial credit files
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to build business relationships based on mutual respect
  • Ability to make decisions quickly in ambiguous and complex situations
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)

The Credit Origination team is in charge of all credit risks for the Commercial and Wealth Management business lines across Canada.
