The role

We are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer with a particular interest in CBT for Personality Disorders in the context of the two year post graduate diploma and one year post graduate certificate in CBT for severe mental health problems.

Within CEDAR, you will have responsibility for managing and monitoring the academic and clinical components of the training programme and the associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement including supporting the accreditation / registration by relevant professional institutions where appropriate). You will work with the Programme Lead, Director of Portfolio and the Director of PGT/PGR to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programme in accord with the College's education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to teaching on the programme and across CEDAR where appropriate and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across CEDAR.

Specific Purposes of the job:

  • Oversee the development and delivery of the timetable in line with the curriculum
  • Oversee the assessment strategy including module descriptors , marking process in line with TQA
  • Oversee the clinical supervision provided on the course and linking with service partners around students' clinical work
  • Contribute to moderation as needed
  • Contribute to accreditation / registration submissions as needed
  • Support and mentor academic tutors and clinical supervisors
  • Support recruitment alongside the programme lead
  • Provide teaching as needed



About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or the necessary equivalent (e.g. Post Graduate Diploma) in Clinical Psychology / or related clinical area (e.g. CBT) of the core knowledge relating to academic area (CBT for personality disorder) in order to teach and support learning on academic area (Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate for Severe Mental Health Problems) modules.
  • Possess a good honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Principle Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
