As a Senior iOS Camera Engineer Lead, you will grow, coach, and lead a tight-knit group of engineers building the Flipgrid camera. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly make an impact on the iOS camera team and work with the larger Flipgrid product and engineering teams to deliver innovative and meaningful camera experience to millions of students and educators. You will also have the opportunity to work with engineering teams across Microsoft to establish partnerships and extend the impact of the team’s work. 

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of iOS engineers to deliver experiences that are highly crafted and rewarding to the Flipgrid community
• Collaborate with mobile, design, and product teams to ensure the goals of the product are aligned with what is delivered  
• Develop experiences that are rooted in a design-driven approach that adheres to the iOS design language and industry best practices  
• Work with the product development team in driving innovative approaches to solving common problems.   

Qualifications

• 5+ years of iOS development experience developing features and experiences for medium-to-large-scale applications

• 3+ years guiding and mentoring a team of mobile engineers  

• 2+ years engineering management experience 

Bonus credit for: 

• Experience building reusable SDKs or open-source projects 

• Experience with Metal, Core Image, CoreAnimation, or similar frameworks and libraries. 
• Experience in media capturing, editing, and playback using AVFoundation. 
• Understanding of video technology (containers, codecs, transport, etc.) 
• Strong experience developing world-class applications using Swift. 
• Experience building with SwiftUI. 

• Ability to write resilient code that leverages end-to-end and unit tests. 
• Design-driven with experience building with the Apple Human Interface Guidelines and best design practices. 
• Proficient in delivering accessible apps that leverage touch and spoken feedback. 
• Skilled in working with continuous integration platforms (Visual Studio App Center, GitHub Actions, etc.). 
• Strong cross-discipline and cross-team collaboration skills.
