Ampli, an RBC Venture, is a premium cashback app that enables all Canadians to earn money back for everyday purchases.  We operate in an agile environment where we create new capabilities, explore new business models and develop partnerships to enhance Ampli’s offering to Canadians.

In this role, you will be a self-contributor, managing your portfolio of work.  You will dive into the large amount of data that Ampli has, in order to help the business understand what is working and what isn’t.  SQL is like a first language to you.  You understand relational databases, are a whiz at Tableau and know how to tell a story with the data.

What will you do?

• Work closely with Data Engineers and Data Product Manager to ensure that you have the data you need for analysis
• Work with the various groups at Ampli (Partnerships, Marketing, Operations, Product Management, Executive) to understand their needs and identify, analyze, and interpret data to provide reports and insights on the data and KPIs they rely on to run the business
• Provide your thoughts on how to improve what we are doing i.e. what is the data telling us that is working and is not working
• Develop highly effective analytical products such as marketing segmentations, churn analysis, member profiles deep dives, etc. that will enable the business to set strategic direction on client profiles
• Obtain and define data elements and to deliver self-serve dashboards within time requirements for ongoing reporting packages and business development support
• Identify, manage, analyse and interpret data to support the creation of mean
   

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have
 

• Curious mind with a desire to solve problems with data
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-based strategic decisions
• Excellent SQL skills and experience with data visualization tools.
• Experience with statistical analysis
• Nice to have:  R, Python, machine learning
• Understanding and experience building segmentation and predictive models
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to make and defend recommendations including creatively finding solutions to address multiple stakeholder needs
• Ability to work under pressure, focus on priorities and multi-task
• Independent, self-directed
• Comfortable dealing with incomplete information, uncertainty and change
   

Nice To Have
 

• Experience and success in both small start-up environments and large matrix organizations
• Experience with a 2-sided marketplace, for example merchants and consumers
