• User-Centric - technology must be easy to use and support new ways of working both within Oranga Tamariki and across the wider sector.
• Cloud Only and Asset Light - Oranga Tamariki will adopt cloud services rather than own technology assets, enabling it to achieve its objectives efficiently.
• Agile and Enabling - systems and processes must be agile to allow Oranga Tamariki to deliver changes faster, reduce complexity and simplify interactions.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

The IT Security Team is responsible for providing the business with assurance that the security risks associated with its use of both information and technology are effectively managed. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor, using your drive, innovation, and professional expertise, working closely with project and delivery staff, stakeholders and service providers.

We are currently embarking on a large-scale security programme of work covering several security domains. You will be utilising your security expertise to help implement new security solutions, provide project advisory and advice, as well as being hands on in the operations side of security.

As such, for this role you will have a broad range of experience covering several information security domains and you will be able to effectively communicate, consult and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the security objectives of Oranga Tamariki are met.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment with plenty of opportunities for you to make your mark.

You are a self-motivated, outcome orientated, team player with demonstratable problem-solving skills. Also, you will have proven experience of some of the following:

• Governance (e.g. Programme/Project Reporting, Stakeholder engagement)
• Risk Management (e.g. Security Risk Assessment, Risk Reporting)
• Assurance (e.g. controls auditing, Certification & Accreditation)
• Threat Modelling (e.g. STRIDE, DREAD, etc.)
• Security Frameworks (e.g. PSR, ISO 27001, SABSA, NIST CSF, etc.)
• Enterprise Security Architecture (e.g. SABSA)
• Cloud Security Architecture
• Cloud Computing (especially large cloud environments such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Amazon Web Services, Salesforce)
• Cloud migration, cross-cloud integration and cloud-legacy integration
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Additional qualities that are desirable for this role:

• Relevant industry Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSP, CISM, CISA, Azure/AWS security certifications
• Ability to work from home.
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
