Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design outputs from a multi-disciplinary electrical design team and responsible for Electrical design on a number of projects. As a senior member of the team, it is expected that a Senior Electrical engineer will take responsibility for ensuring that all design work is produced on time and in accordance with the project quality requirements. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead a team of engineers for successful project delivery. This includes design review of the electrical /ELV systems, supervising engineers, coordinating, design documentation and contract administration on projects.

Project Duties:

• Set standards for electrical design.

• Ensure that all design teams follow the required standards.

• Lead and supervise design of mechanical services.

• Supervise and manage the preparation of design calculations.

• Supervise design according to local rules, regulations and design guides.

• Preparing technical specifications and reports.

• Supervise engineers and CAD operators in all project related matters.

• Responsible for QA and the checking of all design work carried out prior to formal issue.

• Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and other MEP disciplines.

• Ensure that fully coordinated designs are delivered to program requirements.

• Act as a focal point for matters related to MEP design.

• Instruct, co-ordinate and supervise engineers, technicians and CAD/BIM staff.

• Carry out arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other Engineers’ design and design reviews in accordance with quality procedures.

• Be responsible for the accuracy of the work of the team.

• Responsible for the checking of BIM/CAD work.

• Contribute to successful project completion and management by providing expert technical services in accordance with the project time and quality.

• Lead the coordination process with other senior team leaders for continuity of the project.

• Participate in preparation of bids and proposals on the commercial and technical side.

• Review and check specifications, reports and drawings to ensure quality of design and output.

• Assess if targets are achieved and determine where improvements could be made to increase efficiency.

• Responsible for design activities of complete electrical systems including power, lighting, emergency lighting, central battery systems, lighting control, earthing, lightning protection, telecom, security, ELV, BMS and energy management system as assigned.

• Responsible for technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems.

• Supervise and direct a team of engineers, designers and support personnel.

• Coordination with Authorities for approvals of schemes.

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in design and delivery of large-scale building projects within the consulting industry (preferable). Applicants would ideally have in managing mid-sized teams on high profile, retail, healthcare, hospitality or education projects.

Specific Skills Required:

• Sound knowledge of design software’s (Amtech, Dialux, Revit, CAD etc.).

• Proficient knowledge of design and engineering procedures.

• Quality oriented.

• Planning projects and time management.

• Sound Knowledge of various codes and standards.

• Design experience in various types of buildings

• Aptitude to lead and direct.

• Background experience in a Design Engineer Role.

• Experience in electrical design of buildings (from execution to closure) and have worked on diverse project of different types (residential, retail, commercial, healthcare, etc...)
