Senior DevOps / Environment Engineer

Job Description

​You are an experienced Senior DevOps / Environment Engineer who will be a member of the Environment & Tech Currency team responsible for supporting the application environment within the Document and Workflow Solutions portfolio with a focus on modernizing applications and infrastructure as well building a resilient and sustainable environment. Provides direction and engineering support through the process of agile software development. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Designing, developing and maintaining related infrastructure and platform according to client's changing requirement

Participating all phases of software engineering life cycle and troubleshooting technical problems as needed

Lead and guide a team of technical resources

Act as SME to upgrade, build and manage Dev-Ops pipelines

Migrate and deploy applications to the cloud

Track server inventory and manage the stability of Pre-Production, Production and Disaster Recovery environments

Maintain and deliver a fully functional, problem and incident-free server environment, ensuring on-time patching and deployment fixes to minimize regulatory, financial and/or stakeholder impacts

Schedule, update, and communicate Pre-Production deployments and outages with application stakeholders to drive deliverables to Production

Modernize RBC's applications and infrastructure portfolio to build a resilient and sustainable environment with minimal risk to business

Automate SRE solutions to create scalable and highly reliable systems

Manage and track environment projects & service requests via service management tools such as Jira

Implement best practices for security, software, hardware and resource controls in order to identify and mitigate issues and/or risks

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – Look at usage of devices and suggest removal of unused devices and software licenses

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

MUST HAVE:

In depth experience with Run the Bank practices (system monitoring, troubleshooting network or application layer, etc.) utilizing leading edge architecture tools (DevOps, etc.)

Extensive Windows and UNIX OS knowledge

Ability to lead and coordinate projects

Cloud knowledge and experience to various cloud-based applications

DevOps / Agile experience or exposure

Understand tools such as Jenkins, Powershell, Jira, Confluence, UCD or similar

Basic Software development Technical background

Experience in IT Server Management

Product Mindset

Ability to communicate effectively with both management and technical teams

Ability to prioritize and multi task within various projects in a dynamic, fast moving environment

Ability to work effectively with infrastructure partners, business partners and vendors

Ability to adapt in a changing environment and take initiative to suggest improvements

NICE TO HAVE:

Experience and knowledge of PEGA, Kofax KTA, IBM Content Manager

Database experience and/or knowledge (SQL, DB2 etc.)

Working understanding of Load Balancing, Firewalls, DNS, SSL an asset.
