An American Company is seeking a Remote Senior Data Architect

Role Description

The Senior Data Architect will visualize and establish the enterprise data management direction. This position will consult with information technology, data analytics, business/ product creation and development staff to create the data vision and enterprise-wide data architecture. You will develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data as well as business events within the enterprise and become the subject matter expert (SME) on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repository and data products.

As the Senior Data Architect, you should be able to understand how the information will be captured, retained and exploited.

• Drive the enterprise-wide data management architectural vision.

• Focus on data decomposition, building conceptual models, developing an enterprise data taxonomy, and developing logical data models at the enterprise level conforming to existing standards and conventions.

• Lead and provide guidance to other team members, to ensure successful delivery of strategy and implementation of Data Management solutions.

• Communicate with clients and partners to understand data ecosystem, business requirements and be able to translate those requirements into a data solution plan.

• Perform feasibility studies and process design reviews, conduct current state analysis, future state and roadmap assessments, project assessments, as well as define detailed blueprint for development requirements.

• Actively engage in the preparation, conception, and realization of client implementation projects.

• Collaborating with security Architects to keep the data secure, including firewalls and user logins.

• Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications.

• Assist in the creation of Data Governance Policies and Standards.

• Serve as the trusted advisor for the data domain, ensuring architectures enable operational and analytical use cases.

Skills & Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or relevant field experience.

• 6 + years of relevant data management consulting or industry experience (Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Engineering (or ETL), Master Data Management, Data Catalogs and Lineage, Data Governance and Data Quality, Data Strategy).

• Solid understanding of the financial sector.

• Experience in managing structured and unstructured data at scale.

• Thorough knowledge of Data Modeling, such as Erwin etc.

• Effective communication skills and relationship management skills.

• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products

• Experience leading blueprint/design and realization phases.

• Experience with Data Governance, Data Management software including MDM, data catalogue, data lineage tools (e.g.: Informatica, Talend, Reltio, IBM MDM, Tibco, Collibra, IBM Infosphere).

• Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.

• Must be able to speak English fluently.

• Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers.

• Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.

• Must have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
