As a Data Analyst at National Bank, you will be joining a team of passionate individuals who are striving to change the world of banking. We are client-focused and work on big data, high-impact machine learning and data modelling projects used for risk management related to fraud and money laundering. 

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Models, Technology and Transformation, Anti-Money Laundering.

Your main challenges:

⦁    Use and explore large volumes of data to meet various business needs.

⦁    Define indicators and create metrics in order to identify trends related to financial crime.

⦁    Use your creativity and expertise in analytics to extract relevant knowledge and information from a large volume of data.  

⦁    Work on reporting activities for anti-financial crime activities and business needs analyses, including presenting the results.

⦁    Using effective visualization methods, present money laundering performance results and trends.

⦁    Work with other stakeholders with different mandates and varied expertise (technology, data science, fighting financial crimes).

⦁    Influence your sector’s risk management orientations and ensure they are consistent with those of the Bank.

⦁    Recommend approaches to optimize the detection of financial crimes and reduce false alarms.

⦁    Support and develop financial crime detection models.

⦁    Ensure the quality and integrity of data used for modelling and visualization.

⦁    Carry out specific analyses and present the results clearly and concisely.

⦁    Make concepts easy to understand and communicate complex information

Target profile:

⦁    Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience

⦁    Expert-level knowledge of SAS

⦁    Expert-level knowledge of PowerBI 

⦁    Expertise in data visualization techniques

⦁    Excellent knowledge of SQL

⦁    Knowledge of R, Python, an asset

⦁    Knowledge of the Bank’s data warehouses, an asset

⦁    Experience in fighting financial crime, an asset

⦁    An attitude focused on the client experience and exploring solutions

⦁    Proactive, innovative and committed

⦁    Strong collaboration skills

⦁    Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
