EY’s Financial Services Valuation, Modelling and Economics team, has grown significantly in recent years. To support our ambitious plans, we are now looking to strengthen our team at the Senior Consultant level.
Working in Valuations Modelling and Economics, you will get the opportunity to work with major corporate and private equity clients, investment banks, funds and government departments providing them with data analytics support and advice on a wide variety of transaction and advisory assignments, including:
Mergers, acquisitions and divestitures – buy-side and sell-side
Financial restructuring
Planning, budgeting and forecasting
Decision support
Resource modelling and optimisation
Regulatory submissions

Any major or complex transaction or decision will require technical expertise to utilise manipulate data to provide deeper insights into a business involved in a transaction and add value beyond the normal deal process. We work closely with our clients to understand their issues and help design sophisticated solutions to execute and support them through a range of outcomes. Your key responsibilities
As an Analytics professional, you will have the opportunity to design and build analytical models (dashboards, financial and simulation models, etc.) to support complex financial and M&A decisions. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across different business functions to identify key drivers and provide meaningful insights for our clients. In this role you will:
Explore financials and the underlying data of a business to determine key insights and performance drivers
Leverage technology, analytical tools and techniques (Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, etc) to analyse and visualise data in supporting M&A activities
Develop simulation and scenario models to assess potential outcomes of a strategic decision
Support our valuations and diligence teams when more complex analysis is required
Skills and attributes for success
Interest and aptitude in advising market leading financial services clients
Progress towards/completion of CA and/or CFA qualifications is highly desirable
A bachelor's degree and approximately 2 to 4 years of related work experience
A degree in data science, finance, economics, accounting or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
Experience in using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.) including experience manipulating data to facilitate strong insights
Experience with SQL, Python, or R is desirable but not required
Excellent analytical, communication, organisational, interpersonal, and teaming skills
