The opportunity
EY Private is a growing practice within EY Tax where you’ll see that growth reflected in your career. The team has a dedicated focus toward serving privately held companies and their owners and their families. These clients span from family owned businesses to private equity owned companies. One thing they all have in common is they are high growth companies. As many companies choose to no longer go public, this is an ever increasing and exciting group of companies from start-up companies all the way to multi-billion-dollar global private enterprises. With a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging work, you’ll make an impact on some of the most technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects around.
You will also work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where you’ll have the freedom to innovate for clients and shape your career through our comprehensive development programs to help you be the best version of yourself, both inside and outside of work.
Provide advice to clients on the application of Australian tax laws
You will provide financial reporting and tax compliance services to our clients
Advise clients on their key business issues using a wide range of technology in real time
Contribute to strategic planning for, and the implementation of, family governance frameworks and structures
Work across multiple projects and clients, including entrepreneurial start-ups, established private businesses and high-net worth individuals and families
Translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
Maintaining your reputation in your field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and finest practice knowledge
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
Tax technical knowledge relevant to individuals and private groups including experience in tax issues associated with trusts, Division 7A and CGT
Completed an undergraduate qualification in Accounting and have completed or undertaking the CA program
An understanding of estate and wealth planning
Strong communication skills, team focus and the ability to manage priorities for multiple clients
Ability to build strong and lasting business relationships
Strong commercial awareness
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience in tax digital technologies and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tabluea RPA,
