Job Description

Job description

Requisition ID:  281522

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

Globally, nationally, and locally, EY is a leading provider of Tax services.  Our credentials are unmatched and remain the reason our firm is considered the “firm of choice” for Tax. EY is also the #1 deal advisor in Asia-Pacific on value and volume of deals for the eighth consecutive year based on 2020 Mergermarket data. We are the only Big Four firm with a separate business unit focused solely on the financial services industry (known as “FSO”).  By joining our growing team, you will be providing international transaction tax services including tax structuring, tax due diligence and tax modelling to a broad range of high-profile clients.  You will have the chance to work on interesting and varied projects and be exposed to excellent career development opportunities to help uncover your potential both inside and outside of work

Your key responsibilities

  • Advise Australian and international financial services groups and institutional investors
  • Help clients throughout the transaction life cycle, from initial due diligence to post-deal implementation and beyond
  • Provide assistance with buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence services and provide tax transaction support
  • Prepare tax structuring advice and assist with review of transaction documentation and tax modelling services
  • Be a key participant in project managing transaction timetables and deliverables

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Specialist tax technical skills in the field of financial services tax

  • Australian tax experience ideally gained in a top tier accounting firm, corporate, business consulting or legal environment

  • Ability to develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service

  • Strong project management skills to ensure engagements run to time and budget

  • Ability to assimilate complex and technical information in a clear, succinct and well-informed recommendation to the client

  • Strong business writing skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in or an interest in dealing with Financial Services organisations

What we offer

  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Continuous learning: personalised career development including coaching, experiences and formal learning so you’ll develop the mindset and skills you’ll need to thrive in the future.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

At EY, you’ll be rewarded and recognised based on your performance and our comprehensive benefits package can be tailored to your individual needs.

We hold a collective commitment to foster an environment where all differences are valued and respected, practices are equitable and everyone experiences a sense of belonging. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process in order to equitably participate, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application via contactrecruitment@au.ey.com or  phone +61 3 8650 7788 (option 4).

We understand the importance of social distancing at this time so our recruitment and onboarding process may be managed virtually so we can continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of EY people, clients, guests and the broader public.

The exceptional EY experience. It’s yours to build.

The preferred applicant will be subject to employment screening by EY or by their external third party provider.
