Job Description

The opportunity

 We are looking to hire a talented mobility tax specialist to join our team as a Senior Consultant. In your role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Liaise with global corporate client contacts to provide planning strategies for their globally mobile employees
  • Manage individual tax compliance programs on a variety of client engagements
  • Research and analysis of a wide range of cross border income tax issues (including the identification of employee and employer tax planning opportunities)
  • Provide advice relating to pre departure and repatriation tax planning
  • Work with a global network of EY offices to assist with our client's needs
  • Support Australian tax consultations for our clients’ inbound and outbound employees
  • Deal with the ATO to achieve desired client outcomes
  • Work with EY offices across the globe to assist with our clients’ needs
  • Work with our immigration, assignment services and employment tax professionals, as well as our broader People Advisory Services team, to deliver coordinated client services
  • Actively participate in development and training activities

 

Skills and attributes for success

 We’re looking for a highly motivated and personable individual with strong communication skills and experience in:

  • Global mobility advisory, including tax advisory and corporate policy development
  • Australian individual income tax compliance and advisory
  • Expatriate Taxes
  • Employment Taxes - FBT, Payroll, Workcover, PAYG Withholding, Superannuation Guarantee and Salary Packaging would also be highly desirable
  • Tax equalisation concepts
  • Dealing with the application of International Tax Agreements
  • Shadow payroll services
  • Advising clients on their employment tax obligations arising from their globally mobile workforce
  • Experience in Compensation Accumulation or Employee Share Plans would also be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, keen desire for knowledge, multi-tasking and strong in project management
