At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga - Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About us

Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko - Infrastructure and Digital - Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga - Ministry of Education, leads inclusive, accessible and integrated national, digital and physical infrastructure and transport services to the education system.

You will join The Applications Support Services team which is part of our Operations and Infrastructure division. We provide technical support for business and corporate applications as well as specialist database advice.  This also incorporates assessing the support needs for new business applications and the monitoring of the applications infrastructure.

In this role, you will ensure that our Cloud Systems operate in an efficient and effective manner thereby providing customers with a high level of cloud platform and application availability and performance.  You will join a cohesive and supportive team who is dedicated in doing the best mahi they can.

 To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Prior experience in delivering maintainable infrastructure
  • Extensive knowledge of the Azure ecosystem as well as good understanding and exposure of other Cloud Platforms (AWS)
  • Proven experience in engaging successfully with internal clients
  • Experience in working with vendors to lift the infrastructure
  • Good understanding of DevOps best practices 
  • Good Terraform and PowerShell coding skills
  • Strong motivation in working collaboratively to contribute to what the team is trying to achieve
  • Open to learning new platforms and technologies (You will be offered a wide range of training opportunities)
  • A strong team orientated mindset
