Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this momentum. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Windows Azure branded services.
Cloud Sourcing and Supply Chain (CSSC) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. The role of Senior Business Strategy Manager provides thought leadership across Cloud supply chain and technology reporting under CSSC. S/he will be part of a hand-picked team of internal consultants with high visibility within CSSC/CSCP executive leadership team. Work is typically organized around project-based engagements across sourcing, supply chain, and logistics that deliver advantaged economics, controlled capital, industry-leading innovation and quality.
Responsibilities
• Lead key strategic initiatives for the organization along with a project team / cross functional team
• Collection, synthesis, and communication of analytics and insights to drive strategies and decision making for executives
• Working with top executives / senior leaders across the organization to shape and drive strategic agendas
• Typical strategic initiatives may involve but not limited to the following topics:
• Benchmark industry practices, bring out-side-in perspectives / market intelligence, and draw implications for Microsoft cloud supply chain.
• Build category strategies and support project teams in business case development to ensure all stakeholders alignment with financial goals
• Optimize supply chain footprint and logistics strategies across different countries for cycle time and / or cost
• Optimize supply chain processes (e.g. forecast, inventory management) to drive cycle time / cost
• Analyze key market trends and come up with recommendations to executives
• Program manage key initiatives and drive results
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply chain, Planning, Operations, and / or logistics areas for high tech industries
• Extensive experience in leading strategy projects with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• 4+ years of working experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, professional service firm, investment banking, or internal consulting team within tech companies is preferred
• Top MBA or graduate degree in related field preferred
