Job Description

Security, Compliance, Identity and Management (SCIM) represent the most critical priorities for our customers in a world awash in digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. We aspire to make the world a safer place for all. We want to reshape security and empower every user, customer, and developer with an “easy button” security cloud that protects them with end to end, simplified solutions from the edge to the cloud. The Security, Compliance, Identity & Management org accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate.

SCIM is the newest engineering organization at Microsoft, and we are in the process of setting up our executive staff team.  Are you an experienced business or program manager looking for an opportunity to have an impact on pretty much every enterprise - big and small - out there?  Are you a high-energy, detail-oriented team player with great communication skills, and an affinity for fast evolving environments that includes senior stakeholders and a global remit?  We are a fast-paced team with a startup mindset, looking for individuals who want to be there at the early stages of this amazing journey, and help our organization get to scale over the years ahead.

This role reports to the Chief of Staff for the SCIM EVP.  We are looking for a seasoned Business Program Manager with the following attributes:

  • Results-oriented, self-directed and accountable, with the horsepower to solve complex problems and high standards for success.
  • Heavy emphasis on customer obsession (both internal and external), and approaching the role with a spirit of service and an owner’s mindset.
  • Top tier project management skills and the ability to drive for results across a distributed set of stakeholders, from early in career to senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Comfort working with technical engineering teams and ability to quickly grasp new ideas.
  • Passion for helping optimize performance within a product team, and operating well in an ambiguous environment as we build new structures and processes for the org.
  • Most importantly, you have a burning desire to be a part of something big and make a difference in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive our customer engagement program for the EVP office, partnering closely with our CXE and Field teams.
  • Focus on key compliance issues (financial, training, accessibility, reporting, audit), and drive accountability across the org.
  • Partner with procurement team on org-wide process, policies, goal tracking.
  • Primary liaison with RE&S and Business Manager to chart growth strategy and space planning needs (Puget Sound, Global), including defining future of work (hybrid business practices).
  • Help support cross-org ROB, projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business operations or product/program management with track record of increasing scope of roles and responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience with engineering environments working on rhythm-of-business activities, business operations, business management, customer engagement, or other similar environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree business, finance, engineering, operations or equivalent experience.
