Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

As one of our team of Senior Business Accountants, you will be a supportive and trusted business advisor, partnering with managers across Waka Kotahi, NZ transport Agency.

You will be the first port of call for anything financial, whether it is assisting with budgets/forecasting, reporting or other adhoc financial tasks. You will share your expertise to build the overall financial management capability of the Agency, as well as provide strategic analysis and advice. 

You will be naturally curious, enjoy building strong relationships and be excited by the opportunity to make a real difference.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Significant experience in a senior business accounting role or similar
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, month end reporting and financial systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an approachable style
• Ability to analyse financial information and provide targeted advice to decision makers
• Strong communication skills with a range of stakeholders
• The ability to think strategically and with commercial acumen – able to see the big picture
• A high level of proficiency in the use and manipulation of financial databases, reporting tools as well as Microsoft Excel
