The Wealth Management Technology Partners team is responsible for providing innovative and secure solutions for Wealth Management. This includes delivering trading solutions and digital platforms for National Bank Independent Network (NBIN).

We are focused on building great solutions using new technology. Our business partners have built an industry leading organization based on incredible operational processes and strong partnerships. Now we need a technology platform to take our business to the next level.

These positions are offered on a 100% remote basis and you will report to a team and a manager based in Toronto.

Your role

As a Back-End developer, you will participate in defining and implementing IT solutions, make recommendations and provide management with the information needed to achieve the Bank's objectives concerning the efficiency and profitability of solutions. You will design concepts and ideas as part of an ecosystem, then develop new solutions with a major impact on the Bank's business operations.

Leading proof of concepts (POCs), learning through experimentation

Being a mentor to other developers in the team

Working closely with our Product Group to bring Customer user stories to life

Partnering with members of your squad to rapidly deliver solutions which translate client wants into value add products

Challenging your fellow architects and designers and helping the team develop as a whole

Use of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development lifecycle initiatives. Automation, Automation, Automation

Redesign of a monolithic development approach towards an iterative, modular delivery mindset

Contribute to building out our new platforms, including a new trading system, client onboarding capabilities, API marketplace, events streaming, data platform

Translate user stories and architectural models into working software that meets Customer needs

Regularly demo the results of your work to our Business Partners and vigorously debate how to improve on the design and construction of the system

Participate in test phases to make sure the systems developed or modified are working properly

Ensure non-functional requirements are achieved including performance, scalability and cybersecurity for system under the sector's responsibility by working with a group of experts and applying the Bank's guidelines and standards.

Your profile

We’re seeking creative individuals who are comfortable working on multidisciplinary teams, have strong logical thinking skills, and can take apart complex issues in a SAFe/Agile context.

Bachelor’s degree or University certificate/undergraduate with pertinent experience

7 years of experience as a developer designing and implementing back-end solutionExpertise in Core Java 8+, SQL

Demonstrated mastery of REST APIs and Spring Boot

Strong database modelling and development skills. Experienced with SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience with SOA and messaging bus e.g. Kafka or similar

Senior level experience with unit testing frameworks

Deep experience with Dev/Ops tools (Bitbucket (GIT), Jenkins, Nexus, Vault)

Several years of experience delivering in an agile approach

Commitment to deliver quality customer service and products which perform at the highest level.

Knowledge considered an asset

Knowledge of Sybase and PostgreSQL

Knowledge of AWS cloud environments

Knowledge of Kubernetes container management

Prior experience in the Banking or Wealth Management industry.
