Your main role will be to ensure proper accounting under IFRS and appropriate controls related to securities lending against cash, securities lending and borrowing, and stock transactions.

This position reports to the Manager, Transactional Accounting - Financial Markets and Treasury.

Your main challenges:

• Follow up and control accounting, tax and financial operations in Midas and SAP and make sure they comply with existing standards and procedures
• Explain balance sheet and income statement variances and fluctuations and ensure that any needed corrections are made and documented
• Maintain partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders as part of daily follow-ups, end-of-month governance, and execution of joint projects
• Understand the activities of the business lines under your responsibility
• Identify and analyze the needs of stakeholders to contribute to the development of systems, tools, and processes that respond to their needs and facilitate decision-making.
• Help develop and implement efficient analysis measures, approaches, and methods.

Competencies required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting and four years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience 
• Experience in financial and/or accounting analysis
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
• Teamwork and cooperation
• Diligence and autonomy
• Leadership skills and initiative
• Behavioural agility
• Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)

Competencies preferred:

• CPA accounting designation, an asset
• Knowledge of the Global One platform, an asset
• Knowledge of the FMC transaction platform, an asset.
• Knowledge of the Murex transaction platform, an asset
• Knowledge of Midas and/or SAP, an asset
