About Us:
Our Business Intelligence Team within BBM provides reporting and analytical insight to Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to support day-to-day operations and strategic planning. The team plays an integral role in decision-making at multiple levels of management through complex analyses, predictive modeling, data definition and standardization, data mining, reporting, as well as sourcing external data from 3rd party relationships.
The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, this role will work closely with a number of internal partners, including marketing, sales and product development. You will be tasked with data projects that enable our Strategic Roadmap, establish governance across the BI requests, and drive best in class practices within BI.
This position calls for a flexible, business-minded individual who is focused on results as well as customer experience while driving change armed with strong critical thinking ability. To this end, you must be capable and comfortable questioning the status quo, while working effectively in a collaborative manner with all business units and levels.
This role is a mix of technical (SQL, SAS, PYTHON) and Business Analyst (data discovery, business rules, root cause analysis). You will bring significant experience and knowledge of BBM systems and data. This foundational background will enable you to help us discover data sources, establish connections to the data and rules for its use.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain business and competitor intelligence processes, tools and databases to aid the development of product, customer and market segment strategies and programs within Bell Business Markets
Lead the planning, identification, development and implementation of design and/or changes to key reports and ad hoc requests
Design and build multi dimensional data models based on requirements
Build new and/or modify existing ETLs to refresh data models
Present key findings to management teams and business stakeholders
Engage and build strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders to incorporate their goals, and instill confidence to ensure alignment to and adoption of solutions.
Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities to apply new BI insights to various areas of the organization
Act as a steward for standards around data model, data dictionary and implementation of business rules and definitions
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, BI, IT, CS and/or related fields or experience
5+ years of experience in the data management discipline covering the data development, ETL, reporting, and analytics space.
Strong background in SQL and ETL platforms (SAS, Pentaho, etc.)
Solid understanding of the BI lifecycle including the design, development, QA, maintenance, and support stages.
Effective communicator with facilitation and conflict resolution capability
Excellent presentation acumen
Structured and proactive with the need to quickly execute in an agile development environment.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability, particularly in the area of customer and competitor/industry analysis, with an ability to extract strategic themes and quickly draw meaningful conclusions
Resourceful, self-governing, disciplined self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of an extended team
In-depth knowledge of data marts and data design/architecture concepts.
Passion for uncovering business needs, identifying opportunities, and aligning efforts to ensure timely implementation
Desired Competencies:
Hands on machine learning and AI experience strongly preferred
Experience in Microstrategy or other reporting front is an asset
Experience in technology companies and/or telecom networks is a strong asset
