In Te Pae Aronui our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, expertise and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The Special Projects team within Te Pae Aronui is responsible for the implementation of key government priorities such as the Free and Healthy School Lunch programme and the period well-being project.
We provide advice and support to our regional teams to support the implementation of the programmes of work.
About this role
You will be responsible for supporting schools and kura to implement a range of programmes and services that support student well-being such as the Free and Healthy School Lunches programme and the period wellbeing project.
You will engage with schools, suppliers and the community to establish and then support our initiatives. This will mean providing advice, guidance and support to schools and kura and suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects and services that support students.

About you
You will bring your experience working in a Government agency and a sound understanding of the machinery of government, public sector delivery structures and systems, within the Education sector. By developing effective working relationships and building credibility with stakeholders at all levels, team members, and colleagues you will deliver results by taking ownership as well as being proactive and pragmatic. Being a local, you will have knowledge of the region and how to best engage with schools and suppliers in your area.
