Maritime Systems Assurance (MSA) provides high quality technical advice and assurance to internal and external stakeholders regarding international, domestic, maritime, environmental, port and harbour sector issues.
About you:
The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of the maritime industry and marine operations, including but not limited to: navigation safety; port and terminal operations; shipboard operations and systems; cargo operations; the business of shipping; crewing and seafarer training matters; ship survey and inspection requirements; New Zealand's maritime and health and safety legislation; international maritime conventions and maritime law; hydrography; and industry best practice.
You will have demonstrable experience in performing quality research, analyses and reporting on a variety of themes with well-developed technical writing and communications skills. You will be comfortable and capable of delivering quality outputs whether working independently or collaboratively as a member of a team.
The key to your success in this role will be your sound decision-making skills and leadership qualities. We need someone who has the confidence and ability to engage with people from fishermen to Government Ministers; someone who can also hold themselves well when under the spotlight (during an incident response for example); and someone who earns respect, and seeks to build other's understanding
