Bell Mobility’s Wireless Network Strategy team is a center of excellence for the deployment of new technologies geared at enabling the evolution of Bell Mobility’s wireless networks across Canada. The group’s mission is to identify, develop and plan the deployment of best-of-breed technologies that reduce capital costs, enable new revenue streams through deployment of advanced services, and improve performance in wireless networks across Canada.
The Wireless Network team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual that will offer the selected candidate the opportunity to learn about new wireless technologies through standards development, research papers, industry forums, vendor partnerships and trial activities. Knowledge gained on the capabilities of emerging technologies and their business fit is developed into a workable strategic plan for execution by the technology development teams.
Reporting to the Director, Wireless Network Strategy, the successful candidate will required to develop, maintain and updated detailed financial models supporting business case analysis for spectrum, network technology and infrastructure deployment plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work alongside subject matter experts to understand new technology opportunities
Establish network cost model using dimensioning assumptions and refine based on proof of concept trial results
Interface with wireless network planning and finance teams to establish the current baseline
Quantify cost savings opportunities achievable with new technology introduction as part of the overall technology strategy
Recommend changes in network planning tools to plan budgets moving forward
Critical Qualifications/Competencies
5-7 years of financial modeling experience
Finance Degree (B.A.A., B.Com)
Working toward CFA or CPA/CMA designation.
Sound understanding of financial accounting principles
Strong problem solving abilities (e.g., CAPEX, OPEX, COGS, Terminal Value estimation from market and corporate financial data...).
Full proficiency with MS Excel, practical knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint applications
Good interpersonal skills, ability to verbal and written communication
Ability to work autonomously and engage Bell stakeholders inside and outside WTP - a “go-getter†personality
Motivation, teamwork orientation
Resilience in challenging situation
Bilingualism (French – English) is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies
Sound understanding of wireless industry
Experience with network planning and modeling, capital plans, spectrum auctions and valuations
Practical knowledge of MicroStrategy, PlanBook and NRM is an asset
Practical knowledge of GIS tools (MapInfo, QGIS…) is an asset
