The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system. NEMA's primary focus is on the performance and capability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery. You will also be responsible for supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of geospatial applications and systems. You will also need to apply your skills in aiding the development of the policies, governance, and procedures that will enable their use and enhance geospatial capability across the Emergency Management sector.
The position sits within the National Operations Business Unit. They are responsible for the operational systems, arrangements, facilities and infrastructure of NEMA and New Zealand's emergency management system.
