Job Description
As part of a team of investment advisors, the Senior Advisor Financial Planning is called upon to act as a client consultant by providing high-level expertise in financial planning and optimizing business opportunities by offering related products (insurance, etc.). Flexible workplace: Red Deer, Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.
Key Financial Planning responsibilities (max. 75% of the time):
- Assess and identify clients' financial planning needs and propose appropriate solutions
- Write all types of financial plans (partial and complete) and retirement projections and follow up with clients
- Develop with clients an action plan adapted to their situation and direct its implementation
- Establish a relationship of trust with customers in order to ensure their loyalty and initiate proposals to go beyond their needs
- Answer questions from the team's investment advisors and investment assistants in the area of financial planning and pension plans
- Contribute to the improvement and evolution of work processes
- Establish and maintain effective communications
- Monitor market developments and keep abreast of trends in order to propose the necessary adjustments
Key business development responsibilities (minimum 25% of the time):
- Identify and develop business opportunities and promote cross-selling by offering related products and redirecting customers to our internal partners (personal networks, sales and insurance, etc.)
- Generate the entry of new assets, new customers and contribute to the increase in the profitability of the team's portfolios
- Offer sales-consulting services according to the profiles and needs of customers
- The incumbent will be assigned specific business development objectives and will be measured against the achievement of these objectives
Competencies Required
- Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and six years of relevant experience or Completed master's degree, related to the business line, and four years of relevant experience
- Financial Planner Designation Obtained
- Financial Math Skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Developed sense of customer relationships (internal and external)
- Significant experience in business development
- Good knowledge of the field of investments and wealth management
- Varied expertise (personal taxation, estate planning, pension plans), desirable
- Be results-oriented
- Have business acumen, political acumen, know how to negotiate and show perseverance
- Know how to plan
- Bilingualism (spoken/written), French and English
