We are looking for a professional to implement various regulations (mainly the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act), compliance standards, and policies when onboarding institutional clients in Financial Markets.

You will report to the Senior Manager of the Counterparty Documentation Centre within the Financial Markets Operations sector

- Onboarding training program (over several weeks)
Your role :
- Support the Financial Markets lines of business by performing due diligence reviews on new counterparties in compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures as well as in-line with Canadian, international, and/or other regulations to which the Bank and its subsidiaries are subject (PCMLTFA, FATCA, 4th MLD, among others)
- Perform regular reviews on existing counterparty relationships
- Act as a key contact person for internal partners and participate in committees or special projects that require a high level of expertise
- Understand the needs of internal partners and identify and analyze issues by taking initiative and suggesting adapted solutions
- Obtain a high level of understanding of any new corporate standards and applicable laws that may affect the sector's activities
- Train new employees and assist team members in day-to-day activities
- Draft and update job procedures related to position and sector activities
- Develop and implement controls and tools to achieve high quality standards
- Carry out controls put in place to manage the operational and regulatory risk associated with the activities of the sector
Competencies required:
- Bachelor's degree in law or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience OR university certificate or undergraduate diploma and 6 years of relevant experience
- Member of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec, an asset
- Good knowledge of Financial Markets activities, IIROC regulations, OSFI standards, and other applicable regulations
- Good knowledge of compliance standards for institutional clients
- Thorough knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and related regulations
- Good knowledge of finance, an asset
- Good knowledge of the Canadian and U.S. taxation regulatory framework, an asset
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment on several files at the same time within tight timeframes
- Recognized for being proactive, accountable, and collaborative
- Client-oriented
- Bilingualism, spoken and written (English/French), essential
