About Curriculum, Pathways & Progress
The role of the Curriculum, Pathways & Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13. The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all. The group co-designs and co‑develops innovative approaches to achieve policy intentions, plans successful implementation strategies and monitors to ensure a return on investment.
MŠtēnei tūranga | About this role
The Senior Adviser - Pacific is responsible for the design and development of curriculum, teaching and learning initiatives across the early learning to senior secondary pathway for Pacific learners. Senior Advisers undertake detailed design and provide advice on the development of effective and workable practices and products to implement new curriculum initiatives. They work collaboratively with others on change initiatives, and support improvement by focusing on what is and isn't working to tailor and customise approaches to meet needs.
This role will have a focus on designing and developing tools and supports for Pacific learners, particularly those from Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau, Niue and the Cook Islands. Supporting Pacific bilingual education is a key priority, so the ability to speak one or more of these Pacific languages is an advantage.
