The Exporter Regulatory Advice Service (ERAS) is committed to supporting New Zealand exporters by making it easier to understand MPI's requirements to export. We are an innovative team, drawing on principles of agile methodology and service design, to balance providing advice directly to export businesses with service improvements to address identified ‘pain points'.

 About the Role | Kōrero mō te tÅ«ranga

We are looking for a senior adviser who has excellent relationship management skills to work on our Stakeholder Outreach programme for FY22/23. You will be working with small and medium businesses who are thinking about or new to exporting.

As part of our Outreach programme is to understand and support Māori entities with their journey in exporting kai, we would love to hear from someone who has an understanding of Māori tikanga.

Ideally you will have:

• A strong track record of leading projects and delivering results, including planning and organising work, managing execution, and reporting progress.
  • This includes undertaking complex tasks and resolving complex issues.
  • You may have some great technical skills that would transfer to this customer facing role.
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Experience working to ‘clients' - including identifying and satisfy their needs,and managing their expectations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including demonstrated success working across business groups in a collaborative manner using effective influencing skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills - be able to understand technical issues and translate into simple, easily communicated information
• A tertiary qualification or minimum 3yrs equivalent experience in a similar role

It would be desirable if you also understand and have passion in Tikanga Māori and Te reo Māori.
