Mō te tÅ«nga | About the role

In this role you'll responsible for managing the Department's Electronic Security Systems across the lifecycle; ensuring they are designed, transitioned, maintained and operated in accordance with the Department's objectives.

Mōu | About you 

As Senior Advisor, Electronic Security you'll be a key member of a specialist team. The Department's electronic security systems consist of a wide range of technologies installed within Custodial and non-custodial sites. The team is responsible for ensuring electronic security systems are designed, developed, planned, maintained and managed as a complete operational asset.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

To be successful in the role, you will have: 

  • An in-depth understanding of industrial process control systems;
  • Proven and successful assurance of large-scale commercial security systems;
  • Experience and involvement in the security consultancy industry;
  • Ability to work and have credibility with technical experts from a range of disciplines, e.g. architects, engineers, electronic security etc.;
  • The ability to keep oneself up to date with local and global technology trends and security threats;
  • Proven ability to manage an operations environment incorporating resources from multiple vendors;
  • Proven relationship and stakeholder management skills;
  • Proven experience in an analytical, process driven capacity with success in the development of high quality, nationally consistent systems design;
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including networking, influencing and negotiating, with a proven track record of developing strong, credible relationships across organisations and sectors and with diverse stakeholders;
  • Resilience to deal with the unique challenges that the Corrections environment may present;
  • Knowledge of PSR and how it impacts on Electronic Security.
