There is an opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Academic Adviser to join our Academic Advice & Information team in Palmerston North. Our Academic Advisers assist students nationally in successfully navigating their academic journey and achieving their future goals. We also support student recruitment, student services and other outreach activities such as programme events, open days and information evenings as required so there is variety in the role.  
 
Key components of the role are providing effective advice and support to prospective and current students regarding:  

• Our qualifications, academic pathways, and career options  
• Study planning, academic progression, and completion  
• Pre-requisites and eligibility  
• Programme and course choices and enrolment  
• Changing programmes and majors/minors  
• Other key student support services at Massey University 

What we are looking for:  

• A commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in Aotearoa   
• Willingness to practise and develop the use of te reo and tikanga Māori  
• A passion for and experience in supporting students' success through every stage of their learning journey  
• An ability to provide a prompt, efficient and personalised service to our customers  
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders  
• A high level of communication and problem-solving skills  
• A tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential. However, relevant work experience and knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education environment is required
