Microsoft’s Edge & Platform, Devices, & Gaming (EDG) Security group supports Azure, Windows, Xbox, and Surface businesses by driving security across product teams to ensure that we have the right tools, software, and services to protect these key businesses. 

We are looking for a Security Software Engineer to join our Offensive Security Engineering team and help us continuously improve our security posture by building solutions to solve complex systemic security problems through automation, data, and tooling. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Build software and services focused on automating adversary emulations, to help improve software supply chain, operational, and monitoring and detection security.

• Design and build data pipelines by accessing, transforming, reducing, and joining large data sets programmatically, creating reliable, high-quality datasets.

• Build and validate scalable security features, solutions, and services.

• Review and contribute to the specifications and implementations written by other team members.

Qualifications

Required: 

• 3+ years of experience in software design and development.

• 2+ years of software development experience in a product group shipping products and services.

• 2+ years of experience with C#

• 2+ Software engineering and experience in building, testing, deploying services on Azure, AWS or other clouds.

Preferred: 

• Understanding of software security concepts, threats, controls, and TTPs.

• Knowledge of security technology stack including, but not limited to: EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS.

• Bachelor of science or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information security or equivalent work experience.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
