The Security Service Line Solution Manager within the Cross-Industry Solution Organization is responsible for designing and developing key cross industry solutions to support the Security Service line business in collaboration with Solution Portfolio Managers and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organization.  We are looking for a security thought-leader, who will demonstrate security technical leadership, as well as Sales and Marketing acumen, and who is able to apply this knowledge to develop solutions that meet our customer’s needs. 

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of approved Security Service Line Security-as-a-Service Solutions, working with the team’s Portfolio Managers to ensure the solution’s scope aligns with the business vision. 

Collaborate closely with Microsoft security engineering and marketing teams to understand Microsoft’s security direction, integrating the overall business plan and direction into the Security Service Line’s Security-as-a-Service Solutions. 

Collaborate closely with the Office of the Security Service Line CTO to program manage the development of the identified Solutions including leading incubation and pilot efforts to prove and validate potential Solutions. You will accomplish this by assembling virtual team consisting of field Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) often working with different teams across Microsoft Security.   

Collaborate with other Domain & Service Line Portfolio Managers, Solution Managers, Solution Architecture Office (SAO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) teams to ensure Solutions are developed to maximize integration opportunities with other Domains and Service Lines, as appropriate. 

Collaborate with Sellers, Pursuit Leads and Account Delivery Executives to ensure contracting and sales content are developed that appropriate meets customer’s needs. 

Apply Security principles into all relevant offerings, solutions, and go-to-market approaches to support our customer’s digital transformation. 

Lead the development and delivery of internal evangelism content to drive awareness of our solutions to internal stakeholders (Sellers, Pursuit Leads, Account Delivery Executives, etc.), as appropriate. 

Collaborate with the Security Service Line CTO to harvest field IP for reuse within Solutions. 

Deliver executive-level customer briefings and provide occasional remote pre-sales support. 

Participate in internal and external industry events. 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field AND 10+ years experience in relevant area of business 

OR equivalent experience. 

Security Experience – 5+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity architect or strategist with Microsoft or competitive cloud security technologies, cloud security platforms, or any of the following:​​​​​​​ 

Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) 

Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) 

Security Operations 

Cybersecurity offensive concepts and techniques (“red teaming”) 

Cybersecurity incident response or security incident response planning, orchestration and delivery 

Cybersecurity compromise recovery 

Cloud Security Analytics 

Cloud workload protection concepts and technologies 

Cloud Application Security Broker concepts and technologies 

Threat protection concepts and technologies 

Zero Trust Security Model and Framework 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications: 

Program Management - Excellent skills in planning, coordination, cross-group collaboration, resource orchestration, communications, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail required.  Orchestrates plan completion across disciplines and stakeholders, and negotiates trade-offs as needed. 

Customer empathy - Ability to apply broad and deep knowledge of customer needs, to provide input on Solution strategies related to the Security Service Line programs and solutions. 

Trustworthy storyteller - Engage in an open conversation with the field (or customer if required), to understand their customer’s business processes, their industry, and able to translate customer’s pain points/worries in your conversations to Microsoft’s Security Service Line Strategy and offerings. 

Operations - Understand Lead to Order (L2O) and Order to Cash (OTC) Processes; proven ability to develop assets that support these processes (Statement of work, Project Plan, Customer Pitch, etc.) 

Collaboration and communication - Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow-through with verbal and written communication. Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences and various levels of management (Senior Executives, IT management, Security Operations). 

Education - bachelor’s in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; or demonstrated experience in the Cyber Security field. Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies, Microsoft M365 Security Technologies, Cloud Security, CISSP, CEH, GIAC, Incident Response.

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $125,00 and $187,700. At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
