About the company & role

This business, a household name in New Zealand is continuing to grow their digital and security/cyber capabilities. From a strategic perspective, the purpose of these two positions is to help deliver and enable a positive security outcome as part of the delivery of Value Stream initiatives, by providing best-practice knowledge to support the embedding of Information Security across the company, particularly focusing on software and application development.

Reporting into the Security Practice Lead, you will work closely with the other members of the Security team and other business units to design security controls and solutions for one or more functional areas (e.g., software, applications, data, systems and networks).

Some key responsibilities:

• Produce security solution architecture designs and perform security design reviews.
• Guide and assist in the production of Cyber Security strategy.
• Provide security architecture guidance to various projects with a mixed deployment model (mainly cloud with some on-premise).
• Provide guidance and support across the full SDLC working to Agile methodologies to ensure best security practice
• Produce security design that meets business requirements and is compliant with cyber security policy and standards.
• Work with the IT department and members of the Group IT Cyber Security team to identify, select and implement technical controls.
• Collaborate on critical IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
• Work with the Cyber Security Leadership team to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks and develop security awareness programs.

Skills and experience:

• Good understanding of information security practices
• Knowledge of solution design and architecture practices
• Previous or current experience working in a 'hand on' developer/engineer capacity (.NET, Java, Python, CICD, Microservices etc.)
• Proven experience working with complex enterprise systems and understanding of Information Technology.
• Skill in translating operational requirements into protection needs (i.e., security controls).
• Polished communication, leadership and interpersonal skills

Salary/benefits: Excellent salary (up to $170,000) as well as a strong benefits package.

Note: Contract/consulting professionals will also be considered for this vacancy too given the nature of the role and the niche skills set.
