What is the opportunity?
The Securities Finance business unit is responsible for optimizing securities lending revenue within the construct of our lending clients risk reward profiles.
The trading desks globally are responsible for market execution with borrowers, maximizing profitability within the existing products, assist in developing new products and revenue opportunities and managing borrower relationships.
What will you do?
- Execute the support functions of the front office; daily recalls, interaction with borrowers, monitor buy ins liaising with the middle office on returns
- Maximize net revenue and minimize costs for clients in the Securities Lending program
- Identify and present trading opportunities to capitalize on special situations and latent holdings
- Optimize use of client assets and revenue in line with client’s lending parameters
- Manage borrower relationships globally, including participation in regular meetings and presentations
- Responsible for all day-to-day procedures that support optimal distribution of on loan asset classes.
- Investigate and resolve any trade discrepancies including contract compare breaks.
- Interaction with Lender facing team: data/performance metrics and general market trends.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree
- 2+ years experience in relevant industry, with a specific focus in securities lending and global markets
- Ability to excel in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Strong technical/analytical skills; proficiency in Excel
- Ability to build and sustain working relationships with colleagues across regions
Nice-to-have
- Relevant professional/regulatory qualifications (e.g. CFA, CSC, etc)
- Good understanding of financial markets.
- Strong systems abilities – PowerPoint, Access, Bloomberg, etc.
- Financial industry experience, including equity, fixed income trading or collateral management
