What’s the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services has an opportunity available for someone looking to build their foundation for a career in Client Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for working with a dynamic team overseeing transaction processing, settlements and reconciliation functions for Securities Lending Operations. 

This role supports and requires close coordination with Front Office Trading Desks, Trade Management and market settlements teams to ensure there no delays or impacts to client sales and transitions.

 

What will you do?

  • Monitor sales for client assets on loan ensuring assets are available in time to fulfill transaction
  • Ensure client assets are recalled or swapped to cover sales and transitions
  • Escalate to Trading and Management should there be any potential buy-ins on clients fail sales
  • Investigate and resolve client queries
  • Work closely with various business units to manage recalls, sales settlements and client transitions
  • Work with Management on business initiatives and operational improvements to processes
  • Processing of transactions to reflect information captured on Custody platforms; backdating where appropriate
  • Promptly research and clear reconciliation breaks daily
  • Ensure operational controls are followed and reviewed regularly to minimize potential of errors
  • Conduct Rule Management activities to prevent Client exposures
  • Support Front Office with optimizing inventory books through recall management
  • Identify discrepancies with Brokers, Borrowers and Lenders and provide support to reconciliation team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Familiar with North American market settlements – CDS, DTC, Fed’s, Mexico
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel - macros
  • Knowledge of Financial Instruments and Capital Markets
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle large volumes of activity
  • Team player
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong Client Service focus
  • Ability to adapt to working across multiple systems
