RICE COOKER - FOOD PROCESSING FACILITY

Located 15min drive from the city, Koshi Sushi is a leading producer of pre-packaged sushi and related products. Our customers include major hotels, events, corporate catering companies, schools, hospitals and major retail companies. We are relatively small, but growing and have a strong team of people working at our facility.

We are looking for a person ideally with experience in a food processing environment to join our team. Full training will be provided to the successful applicant but given this is a high risk food, preference will be given to those with knowledge of food safety.

It is important that you can work full time hours so please consider this before applying.

ENGLISH: Although English is favourable, a high level of English is not necessary. If you can follow instructions and comprehend written English, then please apply if you feel you have the right experience, attitude and/or ability.

What Are We Offering?
• The casual position available pays $25.41 per hour plus penalty rates (i.e 50% more on Saturday, and double pay on Sunday), plus superannuation on a casual employment basis with full time hours – approximately 35-45 hours per week

Brief Outline of Duties
The work on any day can include all or a combination of the following:
• Using our commercial rice cooker to cook rice. Mix rice with sushi vinegar
• Preparation of large volumes of sushi vinegar following our recipes. 
• Cleaning and Sanitising: As we produce high quality and safe food, we have comprehensive cleaning schedules. During and at the end of day, cleaning and sanitising the work benches and floors, emptying bins etc. is a regular part of the job.
• Hours: Working hours can vary but rice cooking is generally starts (2am to 3:30am) and finishes 7-9 hours after start time. 

What we are looking for
• People with the ability to work full time hours and who are flexible with working days. People on Student Visa who will be completing studies soon and can work longer hours are welcome to apply.
• People with experience in a fast paced food business that are able to maintain quality of food products made consistently.
• Understanding of and good attitude towards Food Safety.
• An ability to learn quickly and a good attitude towards work.
• People able to perform some heavy duties such as lifting 15kg pots or tubs for a period of time.
