  • 3x Permanent, full-time opportunities based in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.

 

Along with the Residential Leadership team, you will focus on facilitating and implementing a national training programme within one of our Care and Protection Residences to ensure the kaimahi (workforce) working with traumatised children receive consistent and high-quality training, allowing them to continue to develop essential skills and knowledge to provide the best care possible.

Mō te tÅ«nga | About the role

Our Care and Protection Residences and the homes connected to them are committed to providing the best care possible for tamariki who need it. We believe in a positive future for our tamariki and their whānau and we support them to be safe and flourish.

As part of the Residential Leadership Team, you will facilitate and implement practice development initiatives for staff working within our residences and homes. You will be managing delivery against a National Training Calendar and individual learning plans, preparing accordingly for the facilitation of training programmes while ensuring you are achieving all objectives, and evaluating and reporting on training outcomes that have been implemented. With your training and facilitation skills, you will ensure a high quality of care for tamariki and their whanau.

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include: 

  • Good knowledge of current theory and best practice within the areas of adult learning, and the ability to deliver culturally appropriate programmes with confidence
  • Understanding and knowledge of child development, trauma and attachment theories/experience in care and protection is an advantage
  • An aptitude for driving continuous development and enhancing kaimahi skills
  • Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to use clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience (this is essential)
  • Willingness to participate in training to become certified to deliver MAPA or other equivalent training
  • A clean, current full NZ driver's licence (this is essential)
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, knowledge of Section 7AA of the Oranga Tamariki Act, and Pacific peoples' culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $71,616.60 and $79,574.00 dependant on experience, with tenure based progression steps available above this range.
