What Youll Do: The Oracle Labs team is responsible for research and advanced development of critical technologies that can enable world class products for our customers. Areas of research include new compute virtualization technologies, graph analytics, advanced security detections algorithms, cloud scale systems and infrastructure, and the application of machine learning in our research areas.

Our research is closely aligned with our business and our customers enabling us to see our research have an impact for our customers and beyond. Many of our past and current researched technologies are in Oracle products today being used by our customers to power their businesses and to have an impact in the world. You will join a world class research organization where you can make a technical impact on the world with the work you do during this internship.

What Youll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications): To be considered for this Research Intern position, you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these OMQs, either on your resume and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript.

Are enrolled in a Masters or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent science/engineering field.

Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience).

Are strongly proficient (i.e., able to complete coding projects with no assistance) in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Scala

Have completed coursework, projects, internships, and or research in three or more of the following technical areas: Query processing/big-data analytics

System software, including operating system kernels

Distributed systems and applications

Cloud computing

Machine learning

Computer Architecture, Compilers and Programming languages

Have completed at least one internship, research assistantship, teaching assistantship, or equivalent practical experience working with the relevant technical areas noted above.

Attend a university in Canada.

Able to obtain work authorization in Canada in 2022.

In addition to the OMQs above, the key qualification for the Oracle Labs Team is the ability to be a self-motivated researcher with the creativity and diligence needed to provide answers and implementations for our research questions in very complex systems.
