ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit work in collaboration to provide care to over 48,000 patients annually, including 25% are paediatrics, presenting with a variety of pathology, medical and surgical conditions. We have strong collaborative relationships with Ambulance Victoria and other metropolitan hospitals.
Our community is culturally diverse with 1 in 2 families being born overseas. Joining our team you will work in a collaborative, driven and supportive multidisciplinary team including, Doctors, Nurses, Allied Health and Clerical Staff with the primary focus of delivering patient centred timely care. As a public hospital servicing the growing community of the West, we have an exciting strategy which will lay the foundation for future growth. We are ACEM accredited for 24 months of advanced training and welcome applications from Australian and overseas graduates.
Patients attending our Emergency Department / SSU will receive timely and patient centred care and will be either discharged home or admitted to our inpatient and outpatient services which includes:
Intensive Care Unit
Special Care Nursery
Perioperative Services
Paediatric Unit
Medical / Surgical Units
Obstetric Services
Mental Health Services (including Mother Baby Unit)
Hospital in the Home Program
Joining our team, you will:

Be supported by Emergency Physicians, with an active fellowship teaching and exam preparation programme.

ABOUT YOU:
Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated commitment to exceptional service and clinical excellence.
High level of communication skills.

Engagement with all key stakeholders to ensure the best clinical outcome and experience for patients and their families.

Demonstrate work flexibility within the Public Emergency Health Services system

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, paediatrics, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has undergone significant service expansion including Hospital in the Home/Hospital Care at Home programs, a new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
