The Team: What we do

Our Intensive Care Unit recently relocated to the new Waipapa building and currently resourced for 21 resourced beds.  We are now in a position to open another 9 beds and therefore need to recruit a number of Registered Nurses to make this happen!

We are looking for Registered Nurses who are interested in a career in ICU and who are committed to providing quality care to our ICU patients. We have a diverse patient group and provide care for a variety of diagnoses in both adults and children requiring intensive care, including those following cardio thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal and trauma.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Initiative, excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
  • Required to work full rotating rostered shifts to cover service needs.
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
