An opportunity has arisen in Lakes DHB for experienced Registered Nurses with acute mental health experience to become part of the Acute Response Team (ART) based in Rotorua. The position, at times, incorporates service delivery in Taupo, Southern Lakes area.

This is an exciting opportunity as we continue to embed our new model of care Te Ara Tauwhirotanga: pathways that lead us to act with kindness. Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes DHB community. Te Ara Tauwhirotanga model of care acknowledges that health, wellbeing and opportunities for healing and recovery are a basic human right and that this can only occur when local, regional and national systems work well together. The model is the product of an extensive co-design process, aligns to He Ara Oranga and is designed around three central Pou (pillars) of Tikanga (Values), Tangata (People) and Taiao (Environment).
MŠte tūranga / About the role
As a registered nurse in the Acute Response Team (ART) you will have a specialist skill base in acute clinical assessment and intervention. The successful applicant will be competent in all facets of care and multi-disciplinary team working. It is also expected that you would have excellent interpersonal skills and have a strong client focus, cultural competence and a flexible approach.
You must be a New Zealand Registered nurse eligible to work in Mental Health and have a current APC with a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an acute mental health setting. Former training as a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) and excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act will be an asset.
