What will you do?
- Conduct credit analysis and assessment rating reports, including providing any additional analysis as required by the Team Lead, Risk Managers, new regulatory standards, etc.
- Actively follow business and financial performance of the Borrowers in your assigned portfolio through monitoring of financial and industry information, regulatory events, external rating agency movements, and other early warning signals
- Support industry teams in identifying deteriorating credits; escalate when required to Team Lead and others as appropriate, including Loan Portfolio Management, Corporate Banking, and Group Risk Management
- Develop thorough knowledge of the latest Risk Criteria Papers and Policies and ongoing updates made to them
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?
- Currently enrolled in a business program (i.e. BComm., BBA, BSc/BA Finance, BA Economics or related subject) and eligible to complete a work term for 4 or 8 months (preferred 8 months)
- A passion and curiosity for financial markets, and the ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment
- Demonstrated financial modeling and analytical skills, including ability to think critically and “outside the box†and make sound recommendations
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to deal effectively with Senior Management within Global Credit, GRM Credit and other Business Partners
- Strong research skills, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely
- High degree of computer literacy, including advanced Excel skills
Nice to Have
- Corporate or Commercial Credit experience
- Oil & gas, power & utilities, transportation, natural resources, real estate, diversified industrial sector experience
- Knowledge of corporate environment, social, and governance issues
- Familiarity with the RBC Capital Markets credit process and loan agreements
- Knowledge of RBC internal systems such as CCMS, TMS, Newton, etc.

Job Summary
As a Co-op Analyst, you will support the Ratings & Monitoring team with efficient and effective credit analysis and assessments of RBC’s Capital Markets clients via high quality Risk Assessment Frameworks (RAFs). Through both qualitative and quantitative analysis, you will identify and escalate deteriorating situations via internal presentations and engage with various stakeholders to form a clearer picture of the level of credit risk. You will become familiar with your assigned industry and will develop strong credit acumen.
