We are seeking a Psychologist to join our new mental health team based at Rimutaka Prison. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the landscape of Mental Health service provision within Ara Poutama Aotearoa for years to come. As a Psychologist, you will be working as part of the Intervention and Support Practice team, dedicated to providing high quality mental health support and treatment to the most vulnerable people in our care. Your role as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team will be to provide psychological services to enhance the mental health and wellbeing of people in our care.
Effective clinical caseload management will include psychological triage, assessment and evidence informed treatments that are aligned to best practice mental health service provision. A key component of your role will be promoting the delivery of holistic and recovery-oriented health services across the prison environment. The salary range for this position is $76,860 - $117,300 dependent on skills and experience.

All people working inside prisons are required to be fully vaccinated as part of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021. People in prison are some of the most vulnerable to COVID-19 and due to the ease of transmission, extending the Vaccination Order supports the safety and wellbeing of our staff and people in prison.
