TOMRA Collections is a major player in the Container Deposit Schemes in NSW, QLD, WA and NT. Here in NSW, TOMRA and its joint venture partner Cleanaway are the network operator for the NSW Container Deposit Scheme ‘Return and Earn’ that began on 1st December 2017.

About the Position

This newly created role offers the opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the PMO Manager, you will work with all relevant stakeholders in ensuring they are informed, engaged and have appropriate expectations throughout the course of the project. Responsibilities of the role include all aspects of project management, particularly stakeholder communication, scope control, budget accountability, supplier management and risk assessment. Specific objectives within this position are, coordinating project planning, resourcing, supply and subcontractor management, progress reporting and troubleshooting. Focusing on monitoring the performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions. At times, with the support of technical and commercial teams, the position will be required to manage and develop project proposals. Role responsibilities and main duties include:

  • Assist in managing the fit out & install of newly sourced locations and manage building contractors for the project
  • Providing project management oversight for company projects, from inception to implementation
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with cross-functional teams including technical professionals, marketing, IT, external stakeholders and more, acting as a conduit between the project team and the day to day business
  • Solve technical and non-technical problems throughout the life of the project
  • Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to all stakeholders
  • Manage the cost, schedule, resourcing, subcontractor deliverables and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs
  • Developing and maintaining key project planning documentation
  • Supervise and coordinate work performed by external contractors
  • Establish milestones and monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules, working collaboratively with other departments to ensure milestones are achieved
  • Demonstrate high-level project management skills using a pragmatic approach to any issues that arise
  • Demonstrate a prioritised approach to safety and standards with an eye for detail for both the project and the processes involved in delivery
  • Knowledge transfer to core team to build internal capability, constructing and providing handover documents and procedures to the business once a project is completed and established as BAU

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in a Project Management role
  • Qualifications in Building & Construction and/or Project Management
  • A valid Australian driver’s license
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management and excellent interpersonal skills conducive to building effective relationships
  • Ability to work from home, but will be required to visit sites or locations across NSW
