Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Violence Prevention, this role will contribute to the establishment, design, and delivery of Le Va's Violence Prevention programme for Pacific across Aotearoa New Zealand. At Le Va, we also support across teams, and the role will involve supporting other Le Va activities where required. We aim to achieve positive outcomes for Pasifika young people as a "must have" deliverable in all we do.

This is a full-time position, Monday- Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm. The role is based in Manukau, Auckland.

About You | Mōu

As a Project Coordinator, you are a vital part of the Le Va organisation. The primary function of this role is to support the Senior Manager - Violence Prevention and Atu-Mai team to design, develop and deliver all youth programme projects. For the Project Coordinator, this also includes leading specific administrative tasks to a high-performance standard.

It is expected that all projects are evidence-informed, high quality, follow best practice standards, are within budget, on time, and are evaluated - particularly to meet the needs of Pasifika families and communities in New Zealand. You will have the skills, knowledge, and experience to independently manage specific tasks allocated to you, facilitate education and training workshops, and effectively engage Pasifika communities and young people.

Required Skills
Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrable experience working with Pasifika youth and communities.
  • Demonstrable project-management and time-management skills, including strong computer skills.
  • Current full, clean New Zealand driver's license and flexibility to travel nationally with ease.
  • A high level of Pasifika Cultural competency.
  • Experience working with Pasifika communities including youth.
  • Experience in programme and workshop facilitation and delivery.
  • Comfortable to work in the areas of mental health, suicide and sexual violence prevention.
  • Demonstrable practice of the Treaty of Waitangi principles.
  • Possesses a strong value base that supports inclusive ways of working with people from diverse cultural groups.

Preferred

  • Experience in community or social sectors.
  • Fluency in a Pasifika language.
  • Research and/or evaluation experience and skills.Ability to engage via digital platforms and reach through social media.
