Ko tā mātou mahi -  Our Role

The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector. The Construction and Innovation Group also advises on standards for quality homes, provides planning and logistical support in the rehousing of tenants affected by construction and provides construction pipeline scheduling and reporting.

Our vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders.' To help us achieve this, we are currently recruiting for a Programme Manager.

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you will be working with a variety of development partners, contractors and consultants to deliver the renewal of our state housing portfolio. This requires strong influencing skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure to ensure that all agreed contractual deliverables are achieved.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Experience managing large and/or complex programmes of work,
  • Experience with managing the design of multiple construction projects, through initial investigations, design and consents
  • Experience in managing projects that are physically located away from your location
  • Experience in developing and leading a team to deliver to the organisations goals
  • The ability to review, improve and implement new processes and procedures of deliverables
  • Prowess delivering programmes and projects on time, within budget and to standard
  • Relevant technical knowledge and qualifications,
  • Preferably over 15 years' experience in the construction industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language
  • Computer literacy in the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, Visio and MS Project. Familiarity with Aconex a plus.
